Quieting the Mind for Peace, Prosperity, and Happiness

You reward yourself when periodically Quieting the Mind
Kim Eickhoff, a freelance blogger and columnist with Grafitti Magazine writes a magnificent article on Quieting the Mind.
She contends in our busy, information overload and challenging world, I know mine is, we should work on Quieting the Mind, taking time to be introspective, creating awareness of ourselves, measuring who we are and really give consideration to what we believe and review what are core values are.
She says we each should take time Quieting the Mind, concluding:
“This would then create happier families, communities, society, and the world at large.“
In recently taken on an aggressive endeavor to learn internet marketing with the Empower Network, I have found the need to spend time quieting the mind. I have consciously started taking 5- 10 minutes a day when I am feeling overwhelmed, stressful, tired and not achieving the success I want so badly for my two year old daughter and family.
I have found simply stopping what I am doing and even thinking what I may be thinking at the time and just allowing my mind to wander is helpful. Sometimes I do it in the sauna at the gym, but most times I just do it riding the bus to an appointment, brifly sitting alone or walking down the street.
I just block out everything for those short few minutes. At times, some distraction has to occur for me to actualy snap out of it, which I am sure is an awakening out of some level of meditation.
I find myself renewed, full of life and able to interact with people more graciously and enthusiastically when I give time to quieting the mind.
Kim encourages us to,
“Do yourself this favor, as well as everyone else! Take care of yourself first, and you will create a reserve of love, time and energy, that is necessary in giving the best of yourself to others in your life. Quieting the mind is the first step towards creating and living your best life!”
