Great tips for blogging

In this article, I provide you some great tips for blogging if you’re new the game and you just don’t know much about the topic.  Blogging is fun and you can blog about anything from family stuff to business stuff.

Great tips for blogging in business

If your blog is business related, you want your content found, right?  Right.  So if this is the case, you want to choose unique keywords (words that your ideal customers are searching for on the search engines).

Know what your competition is doing with their blogs, and make sure you are doing all that and more. Because they are your competitors, knowing what they are doing is helpful to you. Remember that they are likely to read your blog just as you read theirs.

Learn as much as you can about your audience, and cater to their tastes. For example, if your readers spend most of their time on Facebook or other social media sites, do the same thing so you can find them. You want to relate to your readers so it’s important to post your content in places they visit.

Great tips for blogging in the political or religious arena

It’s okay to blog about your side of the story, your opinions and thoughts, your beliefs, however, you don’t want to disrespect the opinions, thoughts and beliefs of others.  A great way to do this is blog about your view point and encourage others to state their opinions and thoughts about what your wrote.

Allow others to freely post, so long as they are also not disrespectful.  Blogs that create a contrversal community bring more and more traffic to your blog which is what you want.  Don’t refuse to post comments from readers who are on the opposite side of the political spectrum or of a particular issue from you.

Great tips for blogging using social media

Syndicating (sharing) your blog posts on sites like Linked In, Google Plus, Twitter and Facebook is critical to creating a great blog with lots of readers.  Social networking sites are a great way to promote your blogs.  Social media is the standard today, it’s not the ‘new deal’ or wave.  It’s here to stay and it’s the way the world communicates.

Great blogging tips for easy reading

Keep your blog posts between 300 and 500 words.  If you have more to say about the subject, simply create another blog post and finish the story.  Or do a 3-4 part series.   A blog with 1000 or more words is a lot to read in one sitting. Thus, you really do need to visually divide such pieces to prevent overwhelming readers.

After you write your blog, make sure you proofread before you publish it.  While a few misspellings are always okay, if there’s too many, people won’t want to read it.  With all the spell checkers available today, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Additionally,  too many grammatical errors, such as incorrect use of particular forms of pronouns in your blog will turn people off and have a tendency to irritate them.  You’ll end up loosing their readership and loyalty so go the extra mile and proof your copy.

Frequently write in your blog.  You’ll find many great tips for blogging along your journey, however, this is one of the most important.  The biggest problem with new blogs are inconsistency and infrequent posts.

When you are not consistent, your readers’ interest and your credibility with Google can be compromised.  Beginning bloggers should aim to post at least a couple blogs a week if they’re using their blog for business.

I hope you found these great tips for blogging useful.  Take the advice you’ve read here and apply it to your own blog.  You’ll find more blog tips along your journey and before long you’ll be giving out your own advice to newbies.

Happy Blogging!

Debbie Turner here.... Thanks for coming by! I'm super passionate about living life without bosses and alarm clocks! I go to bed when I'm tired and get up when I'm done sleeping which is fabulous. Imagine how that would feel to wake up fully rested each morning. I love spending time with family and friends and playing in my hobby industry. In order to do that, I make money using the internet and using simple systems to work around the clock on my behalf. And YOU can too. Here's my secret weapon.  . For kicks, I'm a published scrapbook designer and it's been fun being featured in books, on TV shows, billboards, product packaging and more. It's not unusual to find me on hiking trails and camping and... I can't wait to hot air balloon.. AGAIN.
