Our Attitude Is Everything!

Our Attitude Is Everything!

“The longer we live, the more we realize the impact of our attitude on our lives. Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play with the one string we all have total control over, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. And so it is with all of us. We are all in charge of our Attitudes.”

In one of our past posts, we talked about how changing our beliefs will change our lives. When we change our beliefs, our attitudes will also almost instantaneously change.

What exactly does attitude mean? Attitude is nothing more than how we feel about anything, be it a person, place or thing. It is so critical to have the right attitude. Having the wrong attitude can almost always result in disaster.

Our Attitude Is Everything!

How we feel about certain situations, persons or things will determine what we’re willing to do or not do. As almost all of us will certainly agree on, what we do will determine the results we create in our lives. And results…is the name…of the game. We will expand on actions and results in our future posts. For now, let’s talk about our attitude.

Let me tell you a little story that, quite frankly, really saddens me. I just found this out today. It’s about a certain someone who was recently forced to dedicate the next 21 months of his life to the US Federal Prison system. He had a positive attitude about committing bank fraud.

Back in 2008, he bought a house and applied for an equity line of credit from four banks at the same time. He used the same house as collateral for all the loans. Three of the equity lines of credit got approved. He got a lot of money from the lines of credit. Low and behold, when the house got foreclosed on two years later, his scheme was discovered by the FBI. Sure enough, the FBI had a negative attitude towards what he did. They pursued and prosecuted.

My personal attitude towards committing bank fraud is very negative. Don’t even begin to think about doing it, don’t consider it, don’t do it. Apparently, he felt differently. He had a positive attitude towards bank fraud. He felt it was okay to engage in it. He definitely got the corresponding results because of the actions he took. He did those illegal acts because he felt it was okay. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have done it.

We will do what we feel good or right about, even if it’s not legal. That’s how strong of an influence our attitudes have in our lives. Our attitudes can lead us to glory or absolute disaster of the most horrible kind. It is extremely important to manage and guard it like our lives depend on it…because it really does.

Having a positive attitude towards the right people, ideas, events and things will alter our lives for the better. It will change the course of our lives. Attitude is one of the major pieces to our life’s puzzle. It is so powerful that having the right attitude is a must for us to live the lives that our dreams are made of…whatever it may be for us.

This is most specially true in Network Marketing. Our attitudes will determine whether we succeed or fail in this profession. It will either attract people towards us or repel them away from us. We all know this business is all about our influence towards others. We have to attract people towards us to experience any kind of success in Network Marketing.

If it’s this simple, how come not all people have positive attitudes towards the right things, people or events? It goes back to the quality and flavor of our self-talk and beliefs we were discussing in our previous posts (“Telling It Like It Is: Building A Multi-Million Dollar Network Marketing Organization Part 1” and “Believe It Or Not, It’s All About Our Beliefs“). Be sure to read these posts if you haven’t yet.

We have the complete and absolute power to change our attitudes towards anything almost in an instant. To accomplish this without flaw, we must first start with changing our self-talk. Changing our self-talk will change our beliefs, which will then lead to our change in attitude.

On a final note, we must believe and accept without a shadow of a doubt that our attitude definitely matters. We must guard it like our lives depended on it…because it does. Our attitudes will alter our lives either the right or the wrong way. The good news is it’s all up to us. It’s up to the decisions and choices we constantly and consciously make. We have absolute, total control over our attitudes. The minute we believe this, the direction and quality of our lives will change.

Our Attitude Is Everything! That’s just how it is.
