Afraid of the Phone?
by stevetroutman | on November 6, 2011
I don’t know about you, but I am absolutely terrible on the phone. I don’t like talking on the phone. All I have is a cell phone and I get maybe 5 calls all day long and that’s the way I like it.
The problem with that is I am trying to build a network marketing business. i just got an email from a very successful network marketer who said somewhere in the middle of the email – in all caps!!
IF YOU EVER EXPECT TO MAKE A FULL-TIME INCOME IN NETWORK MARKETING,
YOU’VE GOT TO GET COMFORTABLE TALKING TO PEOPLE!
Oh BOY!
I guess if I ever want to get out of that boring job, I’ve got to step outside my comfort zone as they say right? I know that someone has said, some guru or x-president or somebody with some guts said, in order to get over the fear of something, it is do the thing you fear. Unless, of course, it’s jumping off the Niagara falls or swimming in a pool filled with live crocodiles.
I know it’s all in my head right? Maybe I’m expecting bad results before I start out. What does it matter anyway? So I call someone and they say no. Next. That’s the way I should think, but why don’t I? It should be just another day at the office right?
I know I just need to think of my dream and why I’m doing this in the first place right? I have to get over my fear of talking on the phone if I ever want more things in life, I just better suck it up and do it right? Quit being a wussie…
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post and I’ll tell you how I did.
Until then…
