The simple answer to this is that 97% of the people in the Network Marketing do not understand that Network Marketing is a marketing business. Unfortunately, all the attention seems to be on the “Network” part of Network Marketing. I am not saying one is important than the other. All I am saying is that the 3% that are making money are making the money because they focus ALSO on the Marketing part of the business.

Market: When are talking about Marketing in Network Marketing, you must understand
who are your Market. This is what the uplines usually call the A-list. But it quite important for you to understand that you need A-list in the mind. Who are your market? you broke uncle that is having problem paying his Mortgage is probably not your ideal market. Trust me on that expecially when it comes to Network Marketing.
Medium: There are different medium where you can get your message out. One of the medium is face to face. This is what we do at Starbucks. When talking about medium though, you should focus on where you can get the message out to the most amount of people in the shortest period of time. The obvious answer to this is the Internet.
Message: Many people get this part wrong. Promising people that they will make a million dollars in 2 months is probably not the most effect and honest message that you can give. This is the kind of message that has messed up the reputation of the Network Marketing business over time. We are the in the business of Financial freedom. Your Message should be Gear towards solving people’s problem. This is why it is important to ask the question “how can I help you” whenever you are prospecting. Do not BEG anyone to join your Network marketing business. That is not an effective way of prospecting. The 3% do not beg. Period.

The main reason why the top earners seems to be transferring from one company to another is because they all already have the skills set necessary to make money in the Network Marketing business. As I said in the earlier paragraphs, you must learn marketing.
One other skills set that the top earners know that its linked to Marketing is list building. Your list is your business. The Network Marketing company that you are in is not your business. That is the business of the Company’s owners. Your Job is to build your own list. That would be YOUR list. For whatever reasons, if you decide to leave the company, you have your lists of hot prospects that you have already build relationship with. This is the Network Marketing Business.
Should we focus more on recruiting or more on Selling of the Network Marketing products?
The simple to that question is NO. If you want to focus on selling products, then I suggest that you find a job at a store somewhere and you will make more money that way. Are we selling in the Network Marketing business, YES. But we are not in the business of selling products. We are in the business of selling the dreams. We are in the business of selling the possibility and reality of financial freedom lifestyle. You should focus on bringing in as many leaders (no everybody) into your Network Marketing Team.
