“Nuts & Bolts” to Writing an Effective Blog
When you read this blog post you will discover the secrets on writing an effective blog on whatever topic you choose. Before I unlocked these secrets I was making every mistake in the book wondering how come no one is seeing my blog in regards to getting on the first page of Google’s search engines.

Step 1: “Headline”
Your headline to your blog should:
a) Grab Attention. Be Something catchy.
b) Follow your prospective readers’ internal dialogue, when writing an effective blog it needs to say things the same way your readers would say things to themselves.
c) Your blog needs to promise to solve a problem or help attain a desire.
Step 2: “Opener”
When writing an effective blog you need to deepen + widen the emotional appeal of what you are writing to get your prospect drawn in and ready to go on the ride of desire.
a) You can start your blog with a powerful Hook or
b) Story (become a professional storyteller)
c) You can also make a claim, but remember and read closely, you can only make a claim you can prove. You do not want to be accused of hype.
d) You can make an empathy statement telling your reader that you have been where they have and you know exactly how they feel. (negative optimism)
Step 3: “Stories”
a) Stories convey emotion
b) Humans are hardwired to speak and hear in stories. This is how we have communicated for a long time. “Stories sell and facts tell.”
c) Stories are the UNQUESTIONED shortcut to your reader’s sub-conscious mind, and thus the fastest way to reach emotional engagement with your reader. This simple step when writing an effective blog can be extremely POWERFUL!
Step 4: “Sub-headlines”
You want to break up your blog with sub-headlines. You should do this with your blog every 6-8 paragraphs of which 3-4 of your sub-heads need to be:
b) Punchy (ATTENTION GRABBERS)
c) Your sub-heads MUST HAVE dual readership path. A reader can read your sub headlines and know what they will get from your content by just reading these alone.
Step 5: “Proof”
This is what separates the amateurs from the pros.
a) Testimonials or facts are the best forge of proof.
b) Another great form of proof is LOGIC.
c) 3 other great forms of proof are the “History of the product, How your product works & the mechanisms?, What makes your product so special?”
Step 6: “Your Offer”
Your offer is not just what they get but also…
a) What your solution will do for them
b) It is the best combination of features + benefits put together & presented in the most appealing way for your market.
Step 7: “Bullets”
Bullets break the benefits of your solution down into bite sized pieces for your prospect. 3 points about bullets are:
a) They need to create intrigue
b) As well as curiosity
c) And they also need to create suspense rather than the satisfaction of telling your readers exactly what they get from reading your blog. Bullets need to create desire rather than understanding.
Step 8: “Guarantee”
Remember, when writing an effective blog, honor your Guarantee to your solution but don’t be a PUSHOVER.
Step 9: “Call to Action”
Not simply a request to buy your lower price but to build up value by explaining why an alternative would cost a lot more and create more unnecessary drama.
Your Call to Action creates VALUE/CURIOSITY and is like your “ICING ON THE CAKE.”
Step 10: “Testimonials”
Testimonials are the VALIDATION of what your readers are looking for.
a) Expert Testimonials
b) User Experience
c) User Result
Step 11: “PS”

A “PS” is CRUCIAL when writing an effective blog. The reason for a PS is because many people (I am guilty of this) will go right to the end of your blog just because. The purpose of a PS is almost like a second headline and it is used to get your prospect back to the body of your blog.
