by macsistersnetwork | on March 25, 2012
Plan a day-hike. Visit a National Park, Trail etc. Wherever you go, be one with nature. Follow the safety guidelines of your area, RELAX, REFRESH & ENJOY.
ENERGIZE: Quadriceps – Lower Back
These will help you from feeling stiff.
STRETCH QUADRICEPS. Stand up and pull one leg behind you, repeat with other leg
STRETCH CALVES. Put your arms up against the wall, bring one leg in towards it while keeping your other leg straight, repeat with other leg.
STRETCH HAMSTRINGS. Sit on the floor and put one leg out, reach for it and hold for a few seconds, repeat with other leg and then do it with both legs.
DO A BUTTERFLY STRETCH. Sit on the floor, press the soles of your feet together, pull your feet as close as you can, push your knees down.
STRETCH LOWER BACK. Lay down, bring one leg unto your chest, repeat with other leg, and then do it with both.
MENTAL AEROBICS
Exposure to novel and interesting mental material (concepts and situations) strengthens our cognitive capacity. Our minds grow stronger by reading, creative writing, vocabulary and concept expansion, seeking unconventional/unfamiliar points of view, complex thinking, problem solving, social interaction and exploratory research in libraries, challenging lectures etc
