Getting Facebook Traffic
by lawofattraction | on December 29, 2011
The trend the last 2 years has been getting facebook traffic. In the early 2000′s a top traffic strategy was Google PPC. Google started getting frustrated with the lack of original content from their advertisers. They were finding affiliate marketers were referring people with replicated websites and getting complaints with overhyped income claims. This lead to what we called the Google slap. Thousands of affiliate marketers were no longer allowed to advertise on Google. I guess when Google makes as much as they make they certainly can pick and choose who can advertise and you will soon learn it’s the same for getting facebook traffic.
The next trend became getting facebook traffic.
Similar to google it was called Facebook PPC. Basically you place an ad that goes to your site and everytime you click on it you may pay facebook in an attempt to getting facebook traffic. Of course no guarantees because most people will click on your ad without opting in to your list or buying anything. The trend with Facebook PPC is similar to what I seen with Google PPC. Affiliate marketers were paying $.02 a click but now paying $2 or more per click in some cases. This doesn’t make sense for the average affiliate marketer trying to sell a low cost product to make a $10 commission.
Some marketers will try getting facebook traffic for free.
This can be done by what I think is borderline spam tactics that facebook frowns on with your attempt to getting facebook traffic. You post wall messages to several people’s page and group forums advertising your link. You shamelessly advertise your link to other facebook users email box. Facebook has been putting major restrictions in place to only allow a handful of friend request and emails to send people per day because of abusers.
My personal opinion is getting facebook traffic is a trend that has passed.
It’s a nice place to brand yourself for your prospects to see you are a regular person they can trust. However, it is a big distraction of everyone pitching their deal and doing a paid method isn’t profitable for getting facebook traffic. You may be wondering what the alternative is.
