What are the popular blog sites?

blogging site imageI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… arguably the most popular, and the best blogging and content management software is WordPress, which is available as a free download from WordPress.org.

However, I think that when you are specifically looking for popular blog sites that you are in fact looking for networks that utilize powerful blogging software to allow people to “start up” a blog after entering a few quick settings. Well, there are lots of those and I will list a few of the most popular right now.

When I’m thinking of the free blogging networks out there I certainly think of WordPress.com, which is WordPress software as previously mentioned, using the “network” feature to invite people to start their own blog. This is not a private blogging network as you can set up yourself using the software, but a public blogging site, which incidentally you can set up yourself as well.

Other free networks to start blogging that come to mind are Blogger.com (also called BlogSpot.com), LiveJournal.com is another, TravelPod is setup for travelers to blog about their trips, Tumblr.com is very popular and has different post types which makes it stand out from the rest, and Xanga.com is another that comes to mind.

A few paid popular blogging network sites include Squarespace.com, Typepad.com and this one The Empower Network.

Now, which ones can you generate an income with? Well, all of them really. Many are valuable resources, whether free or paid, for adding content and sending traffic to any sites that you have that generate an income for you. They also can be used to generate streams of income on their own. How you make money from them is up to you but you must be sure to follow the rules that exist for each individual blog site.

Which ones do I use personally? I use most all of them for one reason or other. I mostly use the free ones for backlinks and existing traffic from an authority site. I use the Empower blog for the authority, fast start training, the updated Internet marketing training, inner circle training and product and sales funnel that is already in place that allows me to re-sell the service to the visitors to my blog.

There you have it. Those are the popular sites for blogging. For get-your-post-live-ASAP satisfaction I’d say choose any. For a more direct path to generating an income from your blogging efforts I’d say choose the Empower Network.

It’s $25 to join, you can join at this link, plus you get access to the training and you can listen to the stories of the other’s that are blogging here and making money, and you’re part of a team that you have direct contact with and that treat you right so that you stick around.
