Make sure your blog is on the path to success

Template: Choosing your template can be a tricky business, but it is important that your blog gives the right first impression. There is no point having a blog about your road trip around America, and then having a background with puppies jumping up and down. Also, like a poster your blog needs to attract people at first glance. No point in having pages and pages of continuous black and white text. Include videos and pictures, maybe even an interactive poll or quiz. Color is important if you are blogging about your company use the company’s primary color.

Advertisement: As a blog reader it is a massive no, but as a blog writer it is crucial for the money making side. The trick for advertisement is to find a middle ground, have some adverts but away to the side, not right in the middle of articles. Try not to include big bold and colorful adverts, especially ones that don’t match your blogs color scheme it ruins the fluidity of the page. Adverts should be small and not distract the viewer from your incredible article. If you don’t need to make money from your blogging tips then avoid ads at all costs don’t cram in adverts keep them to the side!

3. Posting and Information: I put these two together because they complement each other well. Post regularly. This is crucial if your blog is about news or sports or gadgets. If your blog is a news or sport blog, it may be a big ask, but a lot of stuff happens in 24 hours in news and sport. Being left behind will make followers go elsewhere to find out the latest football transfer gossip. Also make your sure your information is fresh; make sure you write about the latest gadgets and not things from 2010. If people like your blog they will keep coming back so if they come back a couple of days later to find the most recent article is one they have already read. They may not want to waste their time in coming back over and over again to “chance” finding a new blog.

“Contact us”: If you are writing about your company and or your website make sure you have a “contact us” or “contact me” button. This is a way to develop a relationship between your blog users, no matter what your blogging subject. Developing a relationship between the people who read your blog may lead to sales of your business product. Also if a viewer has an option to contact you it makes them feel wanted, instead of intruding your personal web page. It also indicates effort. It indicates that you have taken the time to hear their needs, wants and questions. Making a “Contact us” button is really easy and only does good, so why not just give it a go?

Outside Links: Including links from to other websites may on the outside seem bad. “It will take away viewers from my blog to other websites.” Or “I should promote my blog not others.” It can actually help your blog. If your writing about building a modern home, then including a link to retailers, such as Home depot.
