Inspiration With Wayne Dyer

Many of us believe that inspiration comes in a flash, a moment and if we fail to “catch” it we lose it.

Let’s take a whole new look at inspiration. Inspiration is not something that we have one moment and then it disappears! If we break down the word inspiration it means “In Spirit”.

Some of us believe that motivation and inspiration are synonymous, but the truth of the matter is they are quite opposite. Motivation is when we take hold of an idea, and pursue it doggedly to its logical end or conclusion no matter what. Inspiration is when an idea takes hold of us, and takes us where we were originally intending to go.

Becoming inspired is really all about changing your awareness of yourself, your attitude and belief. The idea of living an inspired life is where our attitude becomes one, of being in harmony with our own spirit, our source which some refer to as God; Infinite Intelligence, Allah and more. Keep in mind that the name does not define its essence, no more than water, (H2O) or aqua changes the essence of life by giving it clear liquid. Therefore, we can interchange these names throughout this article, and will still be speaking of One Source, the Source which we all come from and will return to.

Dr. Wayne Dyer makes an excellent analogy which helps to easily understand just how connected we all are to the Spirit, and provides powerful imagery to guide us to our greatness. Dr. Dyer asks us to imagine there is an apple pie, and you take a slice and put it on a plate; looking the slice of pie, do you wonder what it is? Is it different from the pie that it came from? Is it a blueberry, or cherry pie slice? It is of course EXACTLY the same as the source that it came from. The same holds true for us and our Source. God is the pie and we are the slice. In essence, we are pieces of God. This is a profound analogy!

As we begin to move into the Spirit we leave behind the false self. The false self is what many call the “ego”. The ego says that we are what we have, or what we do, or who others say that we are. Moving into the Spirit brings a knowing that we have the capacity to be able, and we grasp that we came from a Divine place which is unlimited.

Dr. Dyer sees the EGO as an acronym for “Edge God Out”, which is why we came to believe that we are limited and that there are impossibilities. This has nothing to do with religion, but rather a BELIEF that we are not infinite and divine. As we reconnect with our Source, we see, feel and know our limitlessness and our divinity.

Inspiration is moving back into the Spirit in such a way that we no longer accept ourselves as anything less than Divine.

Once we accept ourselves as the Divine beings that we are, our power re-ignites; we have visions, dreams and callings that we can now see, hear and are able to move forward. This is the stuff of dream lives.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts breaks their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations. Your consciousness expands in every direction. And you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents come alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” – Patanjali
