Why do you blog, Part 1

by | on January 21, 2012

People who start a blog do so for many reasons. These reasons are personal and vary from person to person.

The reason I believe the majority of beginning bloggers use is to make money. There is a belief among many people that if you build a site, people will visit and click on your affiliate or other money making links and voila, you are making money. There are even people who will gladly sell you an ebook or system that they say will do this for you.

Another reason is people want to interact with other people from around the world. This person may not think about making money, just friends. They use their blog as a type of social network, trying to meet as many people as possible.

Some people may be trying to establish themselves as an expert in their field. Someone people will turn to for sound advice or ways to solve a problem.

In the next few posts, I am going to look at these reasons and examine the pro’s and con’s of each. How can each of these be used to build a successful blog. If you are a blogger, tell me, why do you start? Have you moved in a different direction? Leave your comment here and also, if you feel strongly enough about it, write a guest post and submit it to me through:
