The Importance Of Blogging To Grow Your Business

A member of my team contacted me today to ask a question. “I joined a business and I don’t know what to do now. Do I just start advertising it everywhere?”
My advice to him, is don’t advertise at all right now.
I know, there are some people out there who think i am wrong. Gone crazy they will say. Perhaps they are right, LOL.
The first thing that all of us need to do, is to start blogging about our business. I don’t mean to just start posting advertisements. That will not work. I am going to use one of my businesses as an example. The business involves how to take your blog, and turn that into an income that is sustainable, viable, and possibly changes your life.
When we post on our blog, we should answer the age old new reporter questions. How, why, where, who and when. It is about the readers. If you build a blog and start getting regular readers, they are going to come to considering you an authority. If you are taking parts of your business and writing about it on a daily basis, you ARE an authority. As you do your research so you can write a great blog post, you will come to truly understand that part of your business.
You want your blog to appear in the search engines. That is where your readers are. Answer one of those questions, because there is someone out on the Internet, probably as you read this, that is looking for that exact answer.
Always include in you post, in a quiet way, a link to your business. But not flashy. You want readers to see your posts as good information, no an advertisement. Slide the link in at the bottom. Make it look like an afterthought. You want your readers to feel like they know you. Have a relationship with you. Understand your point of view and where you are coming from. As readers continue to read your blog, they are eventually gong to get curious about your business.
