Okay so I love sharing things on my blog that I find fun or that make me laugh.  My husband found this during his morning while drinking his hot chocolate and video surfing on youtube.  He usually gets up a little bit before me to do this.  So he actually woke me up this morning just to show me what he had found.

Take a look.  It made me laugh.

I love the Peterson Farm Bros.  They crack me up.  They did another parody not long ago of LMFO’s “I’m Sexy and I Know It”.  You can see that one here.

The thing that I love is that it shows these boys carrying on a very deep rooted family tradition while still having fun.  I love farming and farm life.  I do not agree with all farming, I think that are better ways to farm than many of the big ag businesses.  And that is where family farmers come in.

I do not know if the Petersons use these practices or not, but I sure am thankful that they are speaking up for an industry that needs to be but in the spotlight a little more often.  I think that a lot of the small family farmers could take a lesson from these boys and learn how to make their farms more relevant to their market.

I am not talking about Ol’ Farmer Bob going out to do one of these parody videos or anything. However even something as simple as a blog and video or a few pictures can go a long way.  It could explain what they are doing and why the locals should come and buy their produce from them could be a start in the right direction.

I have even heard Joel Salatin speak out about how if the farmers and ranchers would just tap in to the social media they would be able to connect to their markets.  This would give them the advantage in knowing what their customers wanted and wished they could get.  It would give them a way to let customers know how their food was being grown and what buying locally actually meant.
