Bulletproof Coffee – Not Just Your Average Productivity Tip

by | on December 5, 2012

If you’ve been following my blog (and if you haven’t, what the heck is wrong with you?!), you noticed that I like to post about tips I have discovered and use on a daily basis to be productive every single stinkin’ day.  For those of you cool people who have read my other posts on productivity, I have a dandy of a tip today!  Hold on to your seats because this is a great one!

Like many people, I enjoy surfing the internet to learn about all kinds of topics.  Some things I’ve learned about through the power of the internet are how to build a coffee table, how to lose weight and gain muscle, how to Dougie and dance Gangnam Style, and even how to pull off an armbar while someone is trying to beat you down!  Gotta love all of the information available on the internet!

Alright, alright.  I’ll get to the point of the article and let you in on the productivity gem that I discovered.  As I was searching for various life hacking articles, I found a website (Bulletproof Exec) that laid out a recipe for a delicious and simple brain boosting beverage – enter Bulletproof Coffee!

The recipe is simple enough and only takes a couple of minutes to prepare:

1)       500 ml of coffee (about 2 mugs)

2)      1 tablespoon of unsalted butter (grass fed butter is recommended, however I used regular butter)

3)      15 grams of MCT oil (I substitute virgin coconut oil)

bulletproof coffee

Blend all of these ingredients, I use a Magic Bullet knockoff because I’m cheap.  Why pay for the real thing if I can get an equivalent that works just as well?  But I digress.  Blend until you see a nice head of foam (see picture).  The consistency is surprisingly creamy and the taste is delicious.  Who needs creamer when you can have Bulletproof Coffee!  And dare I say that I feel like my superpowers have been activated shortly after consuming this?  Amazing how you feel when you give your body the fuel that it needs to run optimally!

Please note that you should use UNSALTED butter.  I shudder at the thought of using salted butter with coffee.  This might not sound that fantastic, but take my word for it and try it out for yourself.  If you choose to accept this mission, you will find yourself much more energized and dancing Gangnam Style!

Thanks to Dave Asprey for posting this info for all to benefit!

Sidenote:  While I do love this recipe, I have not tried Dave’s brand of coffee nor have I tried his MCT Oil, but you’d better believe these are on my list of things to try.  And if you don’t believe me, I’ll put you in an armbar right after I learn how to do it from Youtube!

To Our Increased Productivity!

P.S.  Now that you’ve tried out this recipe, check out the free video on the right side of this page.  You have no excuses about not being able to focus now!
