PROCRASTINATION

Do we

Procrastinate

too much?

There are things we know we should do and get done, but we put them off for another day and time.

Sound familiar?

Most of us procrastinate on a semi-regular basis; ‘putting off tomorrow what we can do today.’
Sometimes it can be even weeks before we do what we had planned to do weeks prior.

Could it also be that whatever it is we have to do, we have made it so large in our minds that we look for something pleasurable or easy to do like; TV, a movie, any leisure activity that can take our minds off of what we are suppose to do and delay it for whenever we get it done.
We know this happens All the time.

How do we not procrastinate and stay focused on the task at hand?

First of all we’re all human; susceptible to human frailties.

Sometimes it’s easy to be sidetracked in a different direction when we have something that must be done.

There can be so much for us to do….that we simply shut down because we don’t want to do it and we look for something that’s fun.

It doesn’t mean we won’t pick it back up and finish our ‘to do’ projects, just as long we check how and when we

procrastinate.

What are some of the ways to overcome procrastination?

For me it’s been my support group/teammates that keep me accountable on different things that I need to do. I appreciate them for that.

At times they don’t even know that they’re helping to keep me on point.

Some people speak affirmations loud and proud as their way to not procrastinate.

“Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the year” (Spanish Proverb)
“How soon ‘not now’ becomes never” (Martin Luther)
“A year from now you may wish you had started today” (Karen Lamb)

I look at it this way; anything that’s uncomfortable for me, I try to make it as comfortable as possible. I become comfortable doing the uncomfortable things; making a habit of getting out of my comfort zone.
My goal is to not

Procrastinate

too much. Easier said than done…but I’ll work on it.

What I I’m is part of an internet marketing company that is an inspiration and help when it comes to slowing down the procrastination bug.
