What do Matthew West Forgiveness Lyrics mean to you?

To me it is something that I dealt with many years ago. Not to hold a grudge against anyone. Granted, I have not been hurt like Renee, who the story was written for, (listen to the video) but Forgiveness is something that is for YOU not the person you are forgiving.

Un-Forgiveness only makes you bitter, like the song says and makes your heart hard and cold. It is hard for God to work through someone or bless them when they have un-forgiveness in their heart.

The Bible says, Mark 11: 25-26,

25 “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

So, save yourself all the issues you have with bitterness, for it will destroy YOU. Let the Lord help you in forgiving anyone in your life that has hurt you and then you can be filled with the joy and peace of the Lord.
