What can I blog about to make money? This is probably the most frequently asked question by new bloggers.

Nobody wants to spend ages creating a blog and writing posts to discover they can’t even make money from their niche or topic area.

But here’s the thing. You can make money from every niche imaginable; within reason of course.

Blogging about the many uses of tin will probably result in failure. But a blog that teaches others about gardening can make money.

To be honest, I fear you are asking the wrong question. You shouldn’t be asking “what should I blog about” at all.

Instead, you should be figuring out what topic you are passionate enough about to write posts every single day, without running out of ideas for new posts.

And you should be choosing a topic based on something you are knowledgeable enough about to teach to others.

From there, you find ways to advertise to that audience. Either through affiliate marketing, Google ad sense, or anything else you feel suitable.

If you have a gardening blog, you sell them gardening products. If you have a fishing blog, you sell them fishing products. If you teach others how to make money blogging, you sell them products that will help them blog.

You see, money in blogging doesn’t come purely from the topic you choose. It comes from the audience you generate, an audience that all share similar interests and buying trends. Then you advertise products that will likely interest those people.

So now we need to figure out what your blog is going to be about, so ask yourself:

What am I passionate about?

What area do I have a great deal of knowledge in?

Will my knowledge benefit others?

From there, you should have your target audience. Now, if you feel that there are enough ways to advertise to that target audience, you have your blog topic area.

From here, you can go and register a domain, create your blog, and start writing.
