Somtimes it’s easy to loose site of what works, it’s easy to get distracted.  Most of the best Internet business ideas are crazy simple and they only require consistent effort, but most of us struggle with that. In my experience it doesn’t get a whole lot easier either.

When I first started building an onine business back in 2005 I was hungry.  I worked hard at it.  Sometimes it seemed I worked for days on end.  I had about a 4 month period where I really just unplugged from the rest of the world and focused on my Internet business alone.  Focused intentional effort is the key to creating anything of value and it holds tru for online businesses too.  If you want to have success with your Internet business ideas for 2012 then keep that one simple tip in front of yourself everyday. That brings me to the first idea I’d like to share with you.

1. Be willing to exert focused intentional effort consistently for an adult period of time.

Helping other people accomplish what they want to accomplish remains one of the best angles on having a successful Internet business in 2012.  I’ve just recently started doing some stuff with Amazon.  They have had an affiliate program for years, I’ve known about it too.  I wasn’t interested in marketing physical products, though I’d never even considered it or looked into it.  So two weeks ago, I did. I went into amazon and created some links and put them on a little site I have that talks about Life Smart Infrared Heaters and two weeks later I had made over $50 bucks.  Seriously ten minutes of work. So:

2. Look at what you’ve already done online and see if you can better monetize it.

Two years ago I decided I wanted to diversify my earning.  At the time I was getting 100% of my revenue from one source along. It was Google AdSense.  I began testing different monetization methods and slowly found some that worked good on each site I had.  As I found ones that worked I would test them on other websites I had online. Having a diversified revenue profile is important and another simple internet business idea you should implement in 2012, if you haven’t already done it.

3. Diversify you revenue streams, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

By the way, I’m grateful for diversifying my reveneu streams two years ago because in December my Adsense account was disabled…… Gone. I appealed….. Gone.  While that hurt, to the tune of over $25,000 dollars a year, I was still bringing in money every month via other reveneu streams I had set up.  Was I pissed?  Sure, I was, but I moved on.  Things are changing all the time online and you have to be ready for that, you have to have a plan be.  Don’t dwell on what used to work.

4. Get over it. Sometimes things don’t work out, what are you doing about it today?
