Shakeology Review – For Those Who Think it's Overpriced :-D

by | on January 30, 2012

…damn, another Shakeology review?! — not really :P but hear me out…

Because as you read this Shakeology review, you should expect it answer any question or concern you have about the price or anything else about the product.

But I do NOT however — plan to give you this hype-filled, fluff bull-crap ‘Shakeology review’ just to get you to buy the stuff.

I’ve been where you are…

…looking for honest reviews , an honest shakeology review — seeing if the reality of this product really lives up to what ‘they’ say it does.

So with that said,

I would like to answer all those tingles and aches that you’ve been having about this product in terms of:

- The Price (why the price is the least thing you should worry about)

- The Quality (including the ingredients)

- The Taste ( mmmmm! (lol) )

- The Business logic behind it

But to keep this Shakeology review at a readable length, I’m just going to tackle the price aspect — and as you read this entire post, I will do my best to assure you that…

..you won’t need another Shakeology review again.

And of course, if there’s anything I left out from this Shakeology review — feel free to leave a comment at the end of this post  and I’ll be sure to holla back! (..ok that was lame)

What’s Shakeology First of All? – Shakeology Review

So what if started off by saying –

Shakeology is a shake mix that tasted like cake mix!

lol. — You’d probably be so close to closing this blog post.

Shakeology Review

Ok but on a more serious note, Shakeology is basically a meal replacement shake that was designed to have as much potent, natural ingredients as possible — while having it taste good.

Because let’s face it…

…no matter how ‘good for you’ a product is — close to no one will buy it if it doesn’t taste good

Shakeology is supposed to do what any other (genuine) meal replacement shake is meant to do:

- Help you lose weight

- Curb bad cravings

- Give you more (natural) energy

So it would be pointless to ramble on in this Shakeology review about how this shake helps you do all three.

The real question is then — how well it compares to others in terms of price and quality (of the ingredients) — right?

Before I get into that — let me start off by telling you a story…

My First Take at It – Shakeology Review

When I first came across Shakeology — I was a college student who just finished my second round of P90X (affiliate link).

The only supplement I was taking from Beachbody at the time was the Results and Recovery Drink (affiliate link) and I was sitting at my desk when I get an email from a Beachbody Coach

…Shakeology has just been released! Click here to Pre-Order!

I was like wtf? …no. :)

But of course — that enticing advertisement is what got meyou know, the one that tells you how much vegetables and fruit you’d have to eat to equate to one glass of Shakeology?

Shakeology Review

..yea that’s what sold me.

But then as soon as I saw the price — my college student wallet started to choke.

Shakeology was too expensive for me at the time, plain and simple.

Why the Price No Longer Mattered – Shakeology Review

Obviously, I wouldn’t be writing this Shakeology review if I didn’t eventually end up trying it.

That time was when I received another email from a Beachbody Coach — telling me more about Shakeology.

This time — she offered to send a sample.

…a side note: when you go to the mall and those food court people offer a sample of food — YOU TAKE IT!!

ok…

So of course, I replied back and said yes, please send one — I had to try it. What was there to lose — right?

When I tried the sample…

…I happened to be in the middle of finals week in college — and if you know anything about college life at all, you know that finals week is a time where there’s virtually no sleep, caffeine pills everywhere, and lot’s of suicidal tension (just kidding).

I was no exception to the no sleep trend — I was pulling all-nighters to get my study and work done.

So I decided to try the sample, not really out of curiosity — but actually out of desperation for something to keep me awake!

In a few of wordspicture a time where your energy levels are at their peak — when you’re the most hyper…

…now imagine feeling that way at 3am in the morning :)

That’s how it felt! — To be real, it gave me energy — it gave me the ability to finish my work, my studies and take my tests… fully alert.

Why the Trade-off was Worth it – Shakeology Review

This was obviously just an extreme situation where I was desperately looking for something to keep me awake — but when I look back at the experience, it emotionally drew me in.

I know it sounds a little corny — but if it wasn’t for Shakeology, I wouldn’t have been able to survive finals week — literally.

If something or someone hands you a favor — little or big — studies have shown that we have this psychological obligation to give back or to have some kind of loyalty to the giver.

This is how I felt about Shakeology.

And honestly…when I look at the price now — I don’t cringe anymore. I immediately tell myself that I have to make room in my budget for it.

I created leverage.

What They Tell You About the Price – Shakeology Review

It’s been conveyed over and over about the price — and how if you really think about it…it’s only $4 a day for Shakeology.

And then they mention how the average American spends about $7 to $10 for a meal that is loaded with calories but has very little to no nutritional value.

…I don’t know about you — but I’m getting immune to hearin that. Aren’t you?

But here’s the truth…

Like I said earlier — I created leverage. I told myself that Shakeology has to be a part of my daily routine because of what it offered me in college when I was struggling.

The only reason you should buy Shakeology and not care about the price — is if you know FOR SURE that it will bring you more value to your life than not having Shakeology.

Does that make sense?

If you can imagine your life vividly being at a better state with Shakeology — then by all means, you’ll create your leverage and ultimately FIND a way to pay for it.

But if you still complain about the price — I don’t blame you, but all I can say is that it’s just not something you need (or want) right now.

…and that’s completely ok! :)

So about the price….$120? a month?

doesn’t really matter. It doesn’t matter if it’s $200 a month.

Again — the only reason you should buy it is if you can vividly picture yourself in a better place in your life with Shakeology.

the real question is whether you want it bad enough so that you’ll FIND a way to come up with the money to pay for your shipment.

If you don’t see any benefit that exceeds the feeling of not having the shake — then you won’t buy it, right?

I know it sounds weird — but a lot of the top advertising companies use this concept to sell millions of dollars worth of product through TV advertising.

It’s very powerful.

The Bottom Line (of this Shakeology Review) :-D

If that sounds like you — go ahead and buy Shakeology. <~ that’s my affiliate link, so if you click there, I will be compensated for your purchase.

…and of course, I will deeply appreciate it :)

Honestly.

For a shake that’s $120 a month, it’s completely plausible to claim that it’s overpriced.

But I can also teach you about the politics and business logic behind the price…however — that really doesn’t matter.

…because there are still tens of thousands of people who pay for Shakeology every month.

Just remember…

The key to remember here is leverage — just like I did when I was in college… if you find yourself creating leverage, you will FIND a way to come up with the money to pay for it.

(and remember, this review is coming to you from a former broke college kid<~..yup)

If not, then buying Shakeology is just not your top priority right now.

Hope this Shakeology review helped in anyway. If you found any value from this post, please leave your thoughts below.

To your awesomeness,
Brandon
