Who Are The Rich Men In The Bible
Recently more than ever I’ve been extremely inquisitive about what rich men in the bible. For two specific reasons.
As an entrepreneur I want to see who they are, what they did, and what I can learn from them.
As a pastor I want to be able to teach accurately on money, wealth, and what the scriptures have to say about it.
I’m not one of those persons that goes off on the deep end, from one extreme to the next. I believe in the word of God there is balance. I also know that many may not agree with what I have to say….which I am perfectly fine with.
That being said I decided to blog about my findings in hopes that it will spark the inner entrepreneur that may be in you, to give a Kingdom perspective on rich men in the bible, to show you an avenue that you can make more money from home if that is your desire and to leave these open for discussion or questions.
When I did a Google search on: the bible and money, rich men in the bible, scriptures on money, and many different variations, TENS OF THOUSANDS of people are searching for answers on a monthly basis.
Why is that?
People are hungry for truth!
I must say, growing up seeing religion, most have a distorted view on money and being wealthy financially. A lot think its pious and godly to be poor.
Most think that money is the root of all evil. And that is a big misquote. According to 1 Timothy 6:10 it states, “For the LOVE of money a root of all kinds of evil…”
Hopefully that sets the record straight. Now I completely understand that I have my work cut out for me. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be challenging, it’s going to be liberating, it will set you free IF YOU BELIEVE IT.
But don’t take my word for it, study the scriptures for yourself. Study to show thyself approved, a workman needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
With this particular blog post I’m not going to get to deep about rich men in the bible that I’ve found. And I don’t know how long I’ll be blogging about it.
I can tell you this, I do believe each rich man in the bible has something distinct that we can learn from them and how it relates to the kingdom of God. That is what I am most excited about.
It is my firm belief that God has a special anointing for entrepreneurs who understand that wealth is not from them but “it is God who gives us the ability to create wealth so that He may establish His covenant which He swore to our forefathers as it is this day.” Deut 8:18
When money gets in the hands of kingdom minded citizens it just flows in abundance THROUGH them because God trusts them to distribute it for the sake of the kingdom. There’s no second guessing.
They know that God is their Abba, Father, Source, All in ALL, Provider, Portion and they will never lack anything. They are not attached to money.
They know that since they have been given dominion over everything (Genesis 1:26) that money must do what they say. And that happens by them being wise with it, budgeting, etc.
Whew as I am writing this I am getting excited because of what I know God has told me and what I know will happen for others that really grab a hold of this.
I didn’t mean to go off on a tangent however when I start talking about God’s Kingdom I can’t help but to get excited. I’m like the man who found the treasure hidden in the open field, I gave up everything I believed for the sake of the kingdom (Matthew 13:44).
Ok ok ok back to the rich men in the bible.
There are a few noticeable ones that stand out.
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, David, Solomon, Zaccheus, and Joseph of Arimithea.
In future separate blog posts I will be discussing these gentleman as well as others in detail about what God has revealed to me concerning them, the life they lived, and how them being rich benefited the kingdom of God.
So I pray that you are blessed by not just reading these but following the word as well. Don’t just be hearers, be doers as well. James 1:22
