Mystery Man in Woods Handcuffed by Newtown Police: SOLVED
NEWTOWN, Conn.— A man opened fire Friday inside two classrooms at the Connecticut elementary school where his mother worked as a teacher, killing 26 people, including 20 children, as youngsters cowered in corners and closets and trembled helplessly to the sound of gunfire reverberating through the building.
The killer, armed with two handguns, committed suicide at the school and another person was found dead at a second scene, bringing the toll to 28, authorities said.
The New York Post says that Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother and is responsible for the horrific school shooting in Connecticut, and Fox News now says that it is believed to have been Adam as well. Some outlets are saying it may be that Adam had Ryan’s identification on him, but this has yet to be confirmed by officials.
Reports indicate that Nancy Lanza was a Kindergarten teacher at the Sandy Brook Elementary School. The recent press conference in Newnton confirms that at this point there are 20 children dead, six adults and the gunman. There are reports that a body at a second location was also found shot. It is believed that the deceased at the second location is someone related to the Connecticut school shooting suspect, but that is not yet confirmed either.
Officials have yet to confirm that either Adam Lanza or Ryan Lanza’s involvement, but the details seem to be pulling together. Officials have said they will come back later this afternoon with another conference with updates.
