There are only six major cosmetics manufacturing facilities in the world. Virtually all of major makeup brands are made in one of these facilities. From the low end Maybelline and Max Factor to the high end Lancome, Channel, Bobby Brown and NARS – each brand is made in one of these facilities.

Okay – that’s nice – Why is it important?

Each of these facilities has some things that they do better than anyone else. Some are great at lipsticks and other are great at eye shadows. Brands that are tied to one manufacturer must get all of their items from that one manufacturer. This means that a very high end brand may in fact have some items that are inferior if their manufacturer doesn’t do those items well.

Market America – the company behind Motives – is a product brokerage company. They don’t manufacture anything. This means that they can pick and choose from each manufacturer the items the manufacturer does best and avoid the items that they don’t do as well.

Market America can (and does) say: “We want that eye brow pencil with our brand name on it” and we get the same exact eye brow pencil that one of the most expensive lines carry.

Since Market America doesn’t do the expensive TV and Radio ads, their distributors can offer these items at incredible discounts. For example the eye brow pencil we use is $56 in one of the high end brands and we offer it for $14. We have it on good authority that advertising costs for some brands can be up to 95% of the total cost. This means that profit, materials, manufacturing, shipping and stocking must come out of the remaining 5%. Is it any wonder that their prices are so high?

Is that all?

Well actually NO. Distributors are trained by the best trainers around. Of course everyone says that, but we believe in our products, and training and our support system.
