Steady progress is being made in transferring
Market America’s online e-commerce features to SHOP.COM.
Chief technology officer Michael Brady was quoted as saying
“The online retailer’s biggest priority is migrating to a
universal e-commerce platform that features more than
30 million products, faster site search, an enhanced shopping
cart that lets consumers purchase merchandise from participating retailers
directly on the Shop.com marketplace, and
more content such as buyer guides and other tools.”
He went to to discuss Market America’s Paid-to-Shop program
where customers are awarded from 2% to 50% cash back when they buy
products they were going to buy anyway from exactly the same
stores they were going to buy from.
This free service in essence awards customer “free money.”
Other focus points for Market America
are Social Shopping – for example
f-commerce (Facebook commerce) and m-commerce (mobile commerce).
Market America already has mature applications in place in both these
arenas and these will
be dramatically enhanced in 2012.
